Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow

My new favorite series is back with the second book, Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow. I fell in love with Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow over the summer and was so excited for this one when it came in the mail! Morrigan Crow is now a member of the Wundrous Society, have discovered her knack, but now it’s time for her education to begin. If you love the early Harry Potter years and learning about a school for magic (both the mundane and the arcane), you’ll love this book.

I won’t summarize the first book completely, but basically, Morrigan is saved from ¬†doomed life as a cursed child and comes to Nevermoor, where she goes through her trials to become a member of the Wundrous Society. Now, she and her eight other classmates, known as Unit 919, begin their education. They take classes to become better Wunsoc members and hone their craft, but the society is trying to tamper Morrigan’s powers and she is bored out of her mind in the classes she is taking. Oh, she’s also only in two classes…while her fellow Wunsoc unit members are in a lot more. And her patron, Jupiter North,is off quite a bit, searching for disappearing Wunsoc members and leaving Morrigan alone with her educational concerns. It doesn’t help that Unit 919 appears to be being blackmailed as well…

I love this series.Honestly, I can’t get enough. It’s middle grade but very exciting. There are some darker elements (death, destruction, etc) that permeate, but I cannot get enough. I especially loved this one as we learned about Morrigan’s educational efforts and I am now pacing the room waiting for the third one, even though as far I know there isn’t even a release date or title yet.

    A very good day,

I was wondering if you would be open to reviewing a poetry and art book called Pulse?

Would love to hear your opinion on it.

    Sincerely,

    Vino Venitas
